Frequently asked questions

Answers on booking crews, signal delivery, equipment, quotations and payment, gathered from the questions producers ask us most.

Questions from producers and organisers

These answers cover how we work, what we need from you and how a job moves from first enquiry to delivered feed. If your question is not here, write to us and we will reply in person.

What kinds of productions do you supply feeds for?

We supply news bulletins, current affairs programmes, concerts, festivals and other live events. A job can be a single camera at one location or switched coverage across several venues. We work to broadcast standard whatever the size, so the feed arrives ready for your gallery or master control without rework.

How do you deliver a finished feed to the broadcaster?

We deliver by satellite, fibre or secure internet transfer, depending on what your control room accepts. Tom Eccleston, our Distribution Coordinator, agrees the route, format and hand-off time with your technical staff before the day. We test the path ahead of transmission so any fault is found early.

Can you manage a live signal that other crews are producing?

Yes. Live Signal Management is a service in its own right. Daniel Okafor and his team monitor and route incoming signals so they stay stable between venue and studio. You tell us the sources and the destination, and we confirm what monitoring and routing the event needs.

How far ahead should we get in touch?

As early as you can, particularly for multi-camera events, which need a site visit or a detailed technical call. We also handle rapid-turnaround news work, so short notice is worth a call. We will tell you honestly whether a crew and equipment can be ready in time.

What information do you need for a quotation?

Send the date, venue, expected duration, number of cameras, delivery method and the broadcaster or programme receiving the feed. Mention any rehearsal time and whether you need live transmission or a recorded feed. With these details we can usually give a written quotation without further questions.

How does payment work?

You enquire through the contact page and we send a written quotation or confirmation. Once you accept, we issue an invoice, which you pay by bank transfer. Nothing is bought or paid for on the website itself, and the prices page explains what each service includes.

What happens if we need to cancel or change a booking?

Tell us as soon as your plans change and we will adjust the booking where we can. Cancellations and refunds follow our payment and refund policy, which sets out what applies at each stage. We aim to keep arrangements fair for both sides.

Do you work outside Shropshire?

Yes. We are based in Shrewsbury, and our crews have worked on news and live music events across the Midlands and Wales. For locations further afield we discuss travel, equipment transport and any overnight needs when we prepare your quotation.

Good to know

What helps a broadcast feed go smoothly

Most problems with live feeds are settled long before the cameras roll. A few ordinary preparations on your side, and a clear conversation with ours, make the difference between a calm transmission and a stressful one.

Agree the destination early

Tell us which control room or gallery will receive the feed and who looks after it there. We then confirm the format, return signals and timing with their engineers directly. This avoids last-minute surprises over formats or contact numbers. A short technical call a few days before is often enough to settle everything that matters.

Share the venue details

Access times, power, rigging points and connectivity all affect how we plan. If you can send a floor plan or a contact at the venue, we can judge camera positions and cable runs sooner. Where a site visit is useful, we will say so and arrange it with you, rather than guessing at conditions.

Keep one point of contact

On the day, decisions move fastest when one person from your side can answer our crew. That might be a producer, a stage manager or an organiser. We will give you a single name from our team in return, so questions never travel through a chain of people.
