Accessibility

Accessibility of this website: the measures taken, known gaps and how to contact us.

Last updated: 21 October 2026

commonra aims to make commonra.com usable on any device, in any browser and with any assistive technology. This statement sets out what has been done, which shortcomings remain and how to report a problem.

Our commitment

At commonra, accessible pages are part of everyday maintenance rather than an extra. Each new page and each change of design is checked so that text stays readable, the menu can be used without a mouse and no information depends on a single visual cue. The statement applies to commonra.com only.

What we do

Pages are built with semantic HTML: headings follow a single order, lists are marked as lists and links say where they lead. Navigation and content form separate regions, the language of each page is declared, and informative images have alternative texts while decorative ones are marked as such.

Colours are selected so that body text, links and buttons maintain a contrast ratio of at least 4.5 to 1 against their background. Font sizes are expressed in relative units, so that text can be enlarged in the browser without content being cut off. Links, menus and form fields can be operated using the keyboard alone.

Standards

Our goal is conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. We describe the site as partially conformant, because a few elements still fall short of individual criteria; pages are reviewed regularly and problems are fixed as they are found.

Limitations we know of

Several illustrations are generic, and their alternative text names the subject without describing it in detail.

Reporting a barrier

If you come across a barrier on this website, or cannot find information you need, please tell us by email at hello@commonra.com or by telephone on 01743 358216. It helps to name the page, describe what happened and mention the browser or assistive technology you used; we aim to answer within five working days.

Information in another form

If a page on commonra.com does not work for you, the same information can be obtained without using the website. We can be reached by telephone on 01743 358216, by email at hello@commonra.com and by post at 14 Coleham Head Works, Shrewsbury SY3 7BJ. On request we will forward the content of a page in another form, for example as a plain text document.

Preparation of this statement

This statement was prepared on 21 October 2026 on the basis of our own review. We checked the main page types with a keyboard, with increased zoom and with a screen reader; no external audit was commissioned. The statement is reviewed once a year and after any major change to the website.
